Ingredients

  • 115 g unsalted butter
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 100 g white chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.

Step 3

Beat in the large egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to ensure the cookies remain soft.

Step 6

Fold in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. The cookies will continue to bake slightly on the hot baking sheet.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy your delicious matcha cookies with a cup of tea or as a delightful snack!
