Ingredients

  • 1 cup Popcorn kernels
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Light corn syrup
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 5 cups Marshmallows
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 drops Food coloring (optional)
  • 0 Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Pop the popcorn kernels using an air popper or stovetop method. Transfer to a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

Step 3

Add the corn syrup, granulated sugar, marshmallows, and salt to the melted butter. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are completely melted, and the mixture is smooth, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and food coloring (if using).

Step 5

Carefully pour the hot mixture over the popcorn. Use a spatula to gently toss the popcorn until it is evenly coated.

Step 6

Spray your hands lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking, then scoop about 1/2 cup of the coated popcorn mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining popcorn.

Step 7

Place the popcorn balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and set, about 15 minutes.

Step 8

Once cooled, wrap each popcorn ball individually in plastic wrap or store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
