Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, mandarin oranges along with their juice, eggs, and vegetable oil.
Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture on low speed until just combined, then increase to medium speed and beat for about 2 minutes. The batter should look smooth and slightly fluffy.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
Remove the cake layers from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
