Ingredients

  • 4 cups Canned navy beans
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 1 medium Yellow onion
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Drain and rinse the canned navy beans, then set them aside.

Step 3

Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon, chop into small pieces, and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, using the bacon drippings, sauté the diced yellow onion over medium heat until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix well.

Step 6

Add the sautéed onions, chopped bacon, and drained navy beans to the bowl with the sauce mixture. Stir gently to coat everything evenly.

Step 7

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish (about 9x13 inches) and spread it out evenly.

Step 8

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.

Step 9

After 60 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes to allow the top to caramelize slightly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the baked beans cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
