Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Plain breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 units Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 3 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat mixture.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down gently and shaping the top into a smooth dome.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the tomato paste, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze.

Step 5

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf using a spoon or a pastry brush.

Step 6

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes.

Step 8

Carefully lift the meatloaf out of the pan (if lined with parchment) or slice directly in the pan. Serve warm, paired with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes and green beans.
