Slice the ribeye steak thinly against the grain. Set aside.
Peel and slice the large onion into thin rings.
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
