Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow mustard (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and parsley (if using).

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients together until just combined. Avoid over-mixing, as it can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into an even loaf. Press down gently to eliminate any air pockets.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and yellow mustard for the topping. Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when tested with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices and makes it easier to cut.

Step 8

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a simple salad. Enjoy your delicious homemade Marla's Meatloaf!
