Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6-8 ounces each) beef ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 0.5 cups soy sauce
  • 0.25 cups olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons kosher salt

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and kosher salt to create the marinade.

Step 2

Place the steaks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated.

Step 3

Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat.

Step 4

About 30 minutes before cooking, remove the steaks from the refrigerator to bring them to room temperature. This ensures even cooking.

Step 5

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450–500°F). Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Remove the steaks from the marinade, allowing any excess liquid to drip off, and discard the remaining marinade.

Step 7

Place the steaks on the hot grill. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, 5-7 minutes on each side for medium, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).

Step 8

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest on a cutting board, loosely covered with foil, for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 9

Serve the steaks hot, garnished with your favorite side dishes like baked potatoes, steamed veggies, or a fresh salad.
