Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Flank steak
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Prepared horseradish
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Chives, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and black pepper to create the marinade.

Step 2

Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.

Step 3

While the steak is marinating, prepare the horseradish sauce. In a small bowl, mix together prepared horseradish, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and chopped chives (if using). Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 4

When ready to cook, preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels. Discard the remaining marinade.

Step 5

Place the steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).

Step 6

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-7 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 7

Slice the steak thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness. Serve immediately with the prepared horseradish sauce on the side.
