  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 liter Water
  • 1 bowl Ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any discolored outer leaves. Slice larger sprouts in half, keeping smaller ones whole.

Step 2

Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.

Step 3

Add the Brussels sprouts to the boiling water and blanch them for 3-4 minutes until they turn bright green and are slightly tender but still firm.

Prepare a bowl of ice water. Once the Brussels sprouts are blanched, immediately transfer them to the ice water using a slotted spoon. Let them sit for 2-3 minutes to stop the cooking process.
