  • 15 ounces black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 leaf bay leaf
  • 0 optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeños

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
