Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter
  • 1 cups Brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups Milk
  • 1 cups Raisins
  • 0.5 cups Walnuts, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract and milk until fully combined.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing.

Step 6

Fold in the raisins and chopped walnuts with a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are just beginning to turn golden brown.

Step 9

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Store the hermits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Enjoy!
