Ingredients

  • 150 grams Butter
  • 75 grams Light brown sugar
  • 100 ml Maple syrup
  • 250 grams Rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8x8 inch baking tin with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, stir in the light brown sugar and maple syrup until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.

Step 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat and mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Step 4

Add the rolled oats to the saucepan and thoroughly mix until all of the oats are evenly coated with the butter mixture.

Step 5

Transfer the oat mixture into the prepared baking tin. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to press it down firmly and evenly.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Be careful not to overbake, as the flapjacks will firm up as they cool.

Step 7

Remove the baking tin from the oven and allow the flapjacks to cool completely in the tin.

Step 8

Once cooled, lift the flapjacks out of the tin using the parchment paper and cut them into 12 equal squares or bars.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
