Ingredients

  • 4 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 can Evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 12 ounces Marshmallow creme
  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces Unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 2 cups Chopped nuts (optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Lightly grease the lining to ensure easy removal of the fudge later.

Step 2

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, evaporated milk, unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3

Stir the mixture continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer, stirring constantly, for approximately 5 minutes. It should reach the 'soft ball stage' (235°F on a candy thermometer).

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in the marshmallow creme, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and unsweetened chocolate squares.

Step 6

Mix until all the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Step 7

If using nuts, fold them into the fudge mixture at this stage.

Step 8

Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Step 9

Quickly pour the fudge into the prepared dish, smoothing out the top with a spatula.

Step 10

Let the fudge cool at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or until completely set.

Step 11

Once set, remove the fudge from the pan by lifting out the foil or parchment paper. Cut into bite-sized squares and serve.

Step 12

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
