  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels and season them with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Step 3

In a shallow dish, add the flour and dredge each chicken drumstick, coating evenly. Shake off the excess flour.

Step 4

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Step 5

Fry the chicken drumsticks in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove and transfer to a baking dish.

Step 6

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and water.

Step 7

Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, and let it cook for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 8

Pour the sauce over the chicken in the baking dish, ensuring each piece is coated.

Step 9

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (165°F or 74°C internal temperature).

Step 10

Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as rice or a fresh salad.
