Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Large white button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Mozzarella cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems carefully and set the caps aside. Finely chop the stems.

Step 3

Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped mushroom stems and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Step 4

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the skillet. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the breadcrumbs and cook for another 1–2 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors and toast slightly.

Step 6

Transfer the breadcrumb mixture to a medium bowl. Add the Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and a creamy filling forms.

Step 7

Grease a baking dish with a little olive oil. Arrange the mushroom caps in the dish with the hollow side facing up.

Step 8

Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully fill each mushroom cap with the prepared filling. Pack it in gently but avoid overfilling.

Step 9

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the stuffed mushrooms.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese on top is golden and bubbly.

Step 11

Garnish with additional parsley if desired and serve warm.
