Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Chardonnay (dry white wine)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to foam.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Step 4

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp start to turn pink but are not yet fully cooked.

Step 5

Carefully pour in the chardonnay and bring it to a gentle simmer. Allow the wine to reduce slightly, about 3 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in the lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using). Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp.

Step 8

Transfer the shrimp and sauce to a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side, and pair with crusty bread or steamed rice to soak up the flavorful sauce.
