Ingredients

  • 2 cups Elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce
  • 20 pieces Pepperoni slices
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil and set aside.

Step 2

Cook the elbow macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water for 1-2 minutes less than the package instructions (to ensure it's firm for baking). Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute to form a roux.

Step 4

Slowly pour the milk into the saucepan, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the saucepan and stir until melted and smooth. Season the cheese sauce with salt and black pepper.

Step 6

Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce in a large mixing bowl. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly.

Step 7

Spread the macaroni and cheese mixture evenly across the greased baking dish, pressing gently to form a flat and even surface.

Step 8

Spread the pizza sauce over the top of the macaroni and cheese layer in an even layer.

Step 9

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the pizza sauce.

Step 10

Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the pepperoni for added flavor.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are lightly golden.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let the Macaroni Pizza cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
