Ingredients

  • 2 bags Luzianne family-sized tea bags
  • 1 cup Fresh raspberries
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 8 cups Water
  • 4 cups Ice
  • 5 leaves Fresh mint leaves (optional for garnish)
  • 4 slices Lemon slices (optional for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely. This creates a simple syrup.

Step 2

Add the fresh raspberries to the saucepan with the simple syrup. Use a wooden spoon to gently mash the raspberries, releasing their juices. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, then remove it from the heat and set aside to cool.

Step 3

In a large pot, bring 7 cups of water to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat and add the 2 Luzianne family-sized tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags and discard them.

Step 4

Strain the raspberry syrup mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into the pot of tea, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the raspberry solids.

Step 5

Stir the tea and raspberry syrup mixture well. Let it cool to room temperature, then transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.

Step 6

To serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled raspberry sweet tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices, if desired. Enjoy!
