Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 stalks green onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 30 pieces lumpia wrappers
  • 500 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Peel and grate the carrot. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Thinly slice the green onion.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, grated carrot, chopped onion, garlic, green onion, and egg. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Step 3

Season the mixture with soy sauce, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix again until evenly combined.

Step 4

Separate the lumpia wrappers and cover them with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.

Step 5

Place one wrapper on a clean surface or a plate. Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the filling along one edge of the wrapper, forming a log shape.

Step 6

Fold the edge of the wrapper over the filling, then fold both sides inward and roll tightly to form a log. Moisten the remaining edge of the wrapper with a little water to seal. Repeat the process with the remaining mixture and wrappers.

Step 7

In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 8

Carefully place the lumpia in the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3 to 5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or vinegar with garlic and chili.
