Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 mix preferred)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 pieces beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon celery salt
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices sliced cheese (optional)
  • 1 as needed lettuce, tomato, pickles (optional toppings)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine water and beef bouillon cubes. Heat over medium flame, stirring until the bouillon cubes are dissolved.

Step 2

Add paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine the marinade ingredients.

Allow the marinade mixture to cool completely to room temperature.

Place the ground beef in a bowl and pour the cooled marinade over it. Gently mix the marinade into the meat using your hands, being careful not to overwork the beef.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
