Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 3 pieces large eggs
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoons almond extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons green gel food coloring
  • 0.25 cups powdered sugar (for topping, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a shamrock-shaped cake pan or a 9-inch round cake pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add the eggs, melted butter, whole milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.

Step 4

Add the green gel food coloring a little at a time until your desired shade of green is reached. Mix until the color is evenly incorporated.

Step 5

Pour the batter into the prepared shamrock-shaped cake pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 6

Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Step 7

Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

Optionally, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar for a festive finish before serving.

Step 9

Slice and enjoy your Lucky Shamrock Cake with friends and family!
