Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Fresh jalapeños
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0 Vegetable oil spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Step 2

Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes with a small spoon or knife. Set aside.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Using a small spoon, carefully fill each jalapeño half with the prepared cream cheese mixture. Smooth out the filling to ensure it is flush with the edges of the jalapeño.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to create an egg wash. Place the flour in a separate shallow dish and the breadcrumbs in another shallow dish.

Step 6

Dredge each stuffed jalapeño in the flour, making sure to coat all sides lightly. Then dip it into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off, before pressing it into the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.

Step 7

Place the coated jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray the tops with vegetable oil spray to help achieve a golden, crispy finish.

Step 8

Bake the stuffed jalapeños in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy, and the filling is heated through.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer or snack!
