Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.25 cup low-fat milk
  • 0.5 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, egg, rolled oats, and low-fat milk. Mix gently until just combined.

Step 3

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed, being careful not to overmix.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Press it down evenly and smooth the top to form a loaf shape.

Step 5

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar to make the glaze. Stir until smooth.

Step 6

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf using a spoon or silicone spatula.

Step 7

Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (73°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices.

Step 9

Slice the meatloaf into pieces and serve warm with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
