Ingredients

  • 400 grams Ground lean beef (at least 90% lean)
  • 1 tablespoon Low-sodium Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted bread crumbs
  • 1 unit Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (no salt added)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 4 units Lettuce leaves
  • 4 units Tomato slices
  • 4 units Low-sodium cheese slices
  • 4 units Low-sodium turkey bacon strips
  • 2 units Eggs (for fried topping)
  • 4 units Low-sodium whole grain burger buns
  • 1 unit Fresh avocado, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Homemade or low-sodium ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Low-sodium mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, low-sodium Dijon mustard, unsalted bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1.5 cm thick. Set aside on a plate.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the turkey bacon strips until crispy and set aside on paper towels to drain any excess fat.

Step 4

In the same skillet, cook the beef patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of low-sodium cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Step 5

Using a small amount of unsalted butter or olive oil, fry 2 eggs in the skillet until the whites are set, leaving the yolks slightly runny for extra indulgence.

Step 6

Lightly toast the burger buns in a dry pan or toaster for about 1-2 minutes, cut side down.

Step 7

Assemble each X-Tudo burger: Spread a thin layer of low-sodium mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom bun. Add a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice.

Step 8

Place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a strip of crispy turkey bacon, a fried egg, and a few slices of avocado.

Step 9

Finish with the top bun, serve, and enjoy your homemade low-sodium X-Tudo!
