Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, low-sodium soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, dried rosemary, dried thyme, black pepper, and paprika. Whisk until well combined to create the marinade.

Step 2

Add the beef cubes to the bowl with the marinade. Toss the beef until fully coated, then cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

Step 3

Take the beef out of the refrigerator 10 minutes before cooking to bring it closer to room temperature.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef cubes to the skillet, ensuring they are in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 5

Sear the beef cubes for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness (medium-rare is recommended, but cook longer for well-done). Remove the beef cubes from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted beef broth to the skillet. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan and let the broth simmer for 1-2 minutes to create a light pan sauce.

Step 7

Return the beef cubes to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to reheat the beef.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the beef bites to a serving plate. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and added freshness.

Step 9

Serve warm as an appetizer or pair with steamed vegetables for a low-sodium main course.
