Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the semolina flour, all-purpose flour, turmeric powder, and baking powder. Stir them together until well mixed.
In another bowl, mix the sugar, olive oil, and milk until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter. If using anise seeds, stir them in at this point.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the pine nuts on top of the batter for garnish.
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
