Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, ground black pepper, and paprika.

Step 3

Add the egg and panko breadcrumbs to the turkey mixture, and mix until well combined. You can use a spoon or your hands, but be sure not to overmix as it can lead to tough bites.

Step 4

Drizzle the olive oil into the mixture and fold it in to ensure the bites stay moist while baking.

Step 5

Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the turkey mixture into 1-inch bite-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the turkey bites are golden brown and cooked through. You can check by inserting a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the turkey bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.

Step 8

Sprinkle the cooked turkey bites with fresh parsley before serving for a burst of color and flavor.

Step 9

Serve the turkey bites warm as an appetizer or snack, accompanied by your favorite low-sodium dipping sauce if desired.
