Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Ground turkey
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground sage
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Unsalted butter
  • 2 slice Low sodium cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 2 Whole-grain English muffins

Directions

Step 1

In a bowl, combine ground turkey, ground sage, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well to create a homogenous sausage mixture.

Step 2

Divide the sausage mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty approximately the size of the English muffin.

Step 3

In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the sausage patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through and browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk the eggs until combined and slightly frothy.

Step 5

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add unsalted butter. Once melted, pour in the whisked eggs. Stir gently and constantly to scramble them until cooked but still soft.

Step 6

Split and lightly toast the whole-grain English muffins.

Step 7

To assemble each sandwich, place a sausage patty on the bottom half of each toasted English muffin. Top with a slice of low-sodium cheddar cheese, half of the scrambled eggs, and cover with the muffin top.

Step 8

Serve immediately for a tasty, low-sodium start to your day!
