Ingredients

  • 500 grams Turkey breast, boneless and skinless
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 150 grams Unsalted breadcrumbs
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk, low-fat
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper, freshly ground
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 whole Lemons, for garnish

Directions

Step 1

Begin by slicing the turkey breast into 4 even pieces. Place each piece between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound with a meat mallet until they are about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 2

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour for dusting, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk and lemon juice, and the third with unsalted breadcrumbs seasoned with ground pepper.

Step 3

Coat each turkey piece first in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally press into the breadcrumbs until evenly coated.

Step 4

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded turkey pieces and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5

Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

Step 6

Serve the Putenschnitzel garnished with chopped parsley and lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.

Step 7

Enjoy your low sodium Putenschnitzel with a side of your favorite vegetables or a light salad.
