Ingredients

  • 25 sheets Wonton wrappers
  • 250 g Ground chicken
  • 1 medium Carrot, finely grated
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 500 ml Vegetable oil
  • 100 ml Low sodium sweet chili sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated carrot, chopped green onion, minced ginger, minced garlic, low sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and coriander powder. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. This will be used to seal the wonton wrappers.

Step 3

Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place about a teaspoon of the meat filling in the center of the wrapper.

Step 4

Dip your finger in the cornstarch slurry, and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly. Ensure no air is trapped inside.

Step 5

Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Step 6

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 175°C (350°F).

Step 7

Carefully add wontons to the hot oil, frying them in batches. Cook each batch for about 3-4 minutes, or until the wontons turn golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove the wontons from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 9

Serve hot with a side of low sodium sweet chili sauce for dipping.
