Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 0.5 pound Ground turkey
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork and ground turkey. Use your hands or a spoon to mix them together thoroughly.

Step 2

Add the minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, fennel seeds, dried sage, dried thyme, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using, to the meat mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3

Pour in the apple cider vinegar and knead the mixture once more to combine.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into 12 equal parts and shape each part into a patty approximately 3 inches in diameter and about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 5

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd them. You may need to cook in batches.

Step 6

Cook each side of the patties for about 5 to 6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 160°F).

Step 7

Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve the sausage patties hot. They pair perfectly with eggs, pancakes, or as a savory addition to any breakfast plate.
