Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Low-sodium chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 whole Egg

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from the heat, add the honey, and set aside to cool.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the low-sodium chicken broth and water. Make sure the mixture is warm, around 110°F to 115°F. Stir in the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

Step 3

Add the melted butter and honey mixture to the yeast mixture. Stir in the egg until well combined.

Step 4

Gradually add the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. The dough should begin to come together but still be slightly sticky.

Step 5

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If necessary, sprinkle with a little more flour to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Step 8

Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, allowing a bit of space between each ball. Cover with the kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 20-30 minutes until puffed.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and allow the rolls to cool slightly in the pan before serving warm.
