Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 0.25 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 green onion
  • 0.5 jalapeño, seeded
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the fresh herbs: cilantro, parsley, basil, and mint.

Step 2

Roughly chop the cilantro, parsley, basil, and mint leaves. Discard any tough stems.

Step 3

Add the chopped herbs to a food processor or blender.

Step 4

Peel the garlic clove and chop the green onion into smaller pieces. Add both to the food processor.

Step 5

Seed the jalapeño and roughly chop it. Add to the processor for a mild kick, or keep some seeds if you prefer more spice.

Step 6

Pour in the lemon juice, lime juice, and olive oil.

Step 7

Add ground black pepper and honey to the mix.

Step 8

If using, add the optional cayenne pepper for extra spice.

Step 9

Blend all ingredients on high until smooth and well combined. Scrape down the sides of the processor as needed to ensure even blending.

Step 10

Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Add more lime juice or a hint of honey for balance if needed.

Step 11

Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld before serving.

Step 12

Use as a topping for meats, dressings on salad, or a flavorful dip.
