Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Basil seeds (sabja seeds)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 50 grams Vermicelli noodles
  • 2 cups Low sodium milk
  • 4 tablespoons Rose syrup
  • 4 scoops Vanilla ice cream
  • 4 Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped almonds

Directions

Step 1

Start by soaking the basil seeds: Place 2 tablespoons of basil seeds in a bowl and add 1 cup of water. Allow them to soak for about 10 minutes until they swell and become gelatinous.

Step 2

Boil water in a small pot and cook the vermicelli noodles for about 3-4 minutes or until soft. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop further cooking. Set aside.

Step 3

In a saucepan, gently warm the low sodium milk without letting it boil. This will enhance the flavor and texture. Allow it to cool slightly.

Step 4

In tall serving glasses, layer 2 tablespoons of rose syrup at the bottom of each glass.

Step 5

Evenly divide the cooked vermicelli among the glasses over the rose syrup.

Step 6

Add 2 tablespoons of soaked basil seeds on top of the vermicelli in each glass.

Step 7

Pour the warmed milk into each glass until it reaches about three-quarters full.

Step 8

Top each glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Step 9

Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and sprinkle with chopped almonds.

Step 10

Serve immediately with a long spoon and straw for a delightful experience.
