Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 2 teaspoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon White vinegar
  • 1 cup Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 0.5 teaspoon Liquid smoke
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place a wire rack on top.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, and regular paprika.

Step 3

Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.

Step 4

Sprinkle the spice mixture over the wings and toss until the wings are evenly coated with the spices.

Step 5

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until crispy and cooked through, turning the wings halfway through the cooking process.

Step 6

While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, liquid smoke, and water.

Step 7

Whisk the sauce ingredients together and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-6 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 8

Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool slightly. Transfer the wings to a bowl, pour the sauce over, and toss the wings until they're well coated with the sauce.

Step 9

Serve the wings hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a side of your choice.
