Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Medjool dates, pitted
  • 0.5 cup Warm water
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup Almond flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup Dark chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2

Place the pitted dates in a bowl and cover them with warm water. Let them soak for about 10 minutes until they become soft.

Step 3

Drain the dates and add them to a food processor. Blend until they form a smooth paste.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the date paste, cocoa powder, almond flour, and baking powder. Stir until well mixed.

Step 5

Add the vanilla extract, eggs, and melted unsalted butter to the bowl. Mix until you achieve a smooth batter.

Step 6

Fold in the dark chocolate chips into the brownie batter gently.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the brownies are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 9

Let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares and serving.
