Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground lean pork
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 100 grams green beans, finely chopped
  • 100 grams cabbage, shredded
  • 3 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium white onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (low sodium)
  • 25 pieces spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup light vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lean pork, grated carrot, chopped green beans, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, and chopped onion.

Step 2

Add the black pepper, low sodium oyster sauce, and one large egg to the bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Prepare a clean, dry working surface and place one spring roll wrapper with a corner towards you, like a diamond shape.

Step 4

Spoon about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the pork mixture onto the wrapper, close to the corner nearest you.

Step 5

Fold the corner over the filling, then fold the two side corners inward and roll tightly until you reach the top corner.

Step 6

Seal the edge with a dab of water and repeat the process with the remaining mixture and wrappers.

Step 7

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

Step 8

Working in batches, fry the lumpia for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy all over.

Step 9

Transfer cooked lumpia to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 10

Serve hot, optionally with a low-sodium dipping sauce of your choice.
