Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 buns whole wheat slider buns
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 4 large leaves lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices low sodium cheese slices
  • 4 slices slice of avocado
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a small patty, about 2 inches wide.

Step 3

Preheat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add olive oil.

Step 4

Place the patties on the skillet and cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side or until cooked through to your desired doneness.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, prepare the buns by slicing them in half. Toast the insides of the buns lightly on a separate pan if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the sliders by placing a cooked beef patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a slice of low sodium cheese, a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce, and a slice of avocado.

Step 7

Close each slider with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately, enjoy your homemade low sodium burger sliders!
