Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground chicken
  • 1 cup napa cabbage
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 30 pieces dumpling wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Wash the napa cabbage and finely chop it. Sprinkle with a little salt and let sit for 10 minutes to draw out excess water, then rinse and squeeze out the liquid.

Step 2

Finely chop the green onions and grate the fresh ginger.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped napa cabbage, green onions, and ginger.

Step 4

Add low sodium soy sauce and sesame oil to the mixture. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 5

Take a dumpling wrapper and place a tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center. Moisten the edge with water and fold the wrapper over to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges tightly to seal.

Step 6

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 7

In a large non-stick pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Place the dumplings in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 8

Add the water and immediately cover the pan. Let the dumplings steam for 5 minutes until the water has evaporated.

Step 9

Uncover and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes to crisp up the bottoms.

Step 10

Serve the dumplings hot, accompanied by a dipping sauce of your choice.
