Ingredients

  • 2 slices Whole grain bread slices
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 2 slices Low sodium ham
  • 2 slices Low sodium Swiss cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Honey mustard (low sodium)
  • 2 slices Fresh tomato slices
  • 4 leaves Fresh basil leaves

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Spread a small amount of unsalted butter on one side of each bread slice.

Step 3

Place the bread slices buttered side down on a baking sheet.

Step 4

On one slice of bread, spread the honey mustard evenly on the unbuttered side.

Step 5

Layer the low sodium ham on top of the honey mustard.

Step 6

Place the slices of fresh tomato over the ham.

Step 7

Add the fresh basil leaves on top of the tomatoes.

Step 8

Layer the low sodium Swiss cheese over the basil and tomatoes.

Step 9

Top with the remaining slice of bread, buttered side up.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

Remove from the oven, cut in half if desired, and serve immediately.
