Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brisket, ground
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, low sodium
  • 4 pieces Whole wheat hamburger buns, low sodium
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 medium Tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 Red onion, thinly sliced

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground brisket, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until well-blended, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and gently shape each portion into a patty about 1/2-inch thick.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the brisket patties.

Step 4

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for a well-cooked burger.

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns either on the grill for about 1 minute or in a toaster.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by placing one patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, and a few slices of red onion.

Step 7

Finish with the top half of the bun and serve the burgers immediately.
