Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bourbon
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine bourbon, honey, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, low sodium soy sauce, and Dijon mustard.

Step 2

Add the minced garlic, ground black pepper, and ground ginger into the saucepan. Stir to combine all ingredients.

Step 3

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, reducing the heat to medium-low. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

While the glaze simmers, in a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry.

Step 5

After the glaze has simmered, gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry. This will help thicken the glaze.

Step 6

Continue to simmer the glaze for another 3-5 minutes until it reaches your desired thickness.

Step 7

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before using.

Step 8

Use the glaze to brush over grilled meats or as a dip on the side. It can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
