Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground lean beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 50 grams Oatmeal
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 10 grams Fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the oatmeal and milk. Let it soak for about 10 minutes until the oatmeal softens and absorbs the milk.

Step 3

Finely chop the onion, garlic, and parsley.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lean beef and pork. Add the soaked oatmeal mixture, finely chopped onion, garlic, parsley, egg, black pepper, and paprika.

Step 5

Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until everything is well incorporated.

Step 6

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and set them aside on a plate.

Step 7

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and brown them on all sides. This should take about 5-7 minutes per batch.

Step 8

Place the browned meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 10

Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 11

Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired and serve warm. Enjoy your low sodium Boulettes de Viande with a side of mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
