Ingredients

  • 500 grams Lean ground Wagyu beef (85% lean)
  • 4 pieces Whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 30 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 60 grams Low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 40 grams Baby spinach leaves
  • 4 slices Tomato slices
  • 4 slices Red onion slices
  • 4 slices Pickles
  • 1 spray Olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 20 grams Dijon mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground Wagyu beef, egg white, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1.5 cm thick. Press a slight indent into the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly spray it with olive oil cooking spray.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 71°C (160°F) for safety. Remove from heat and let them rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them in the skillet or toaster for a crisp texture.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers: Spread a thin layer of low-fat Greek yogurt on the bottom half of each bun. Add a handful of baby spinach leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, a slice of red onion, and a pickle slice. Optionally, spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on the top bun.

Step 7

Place the top bun on each burger, gently press down, and serve immediately.
