Ingredients

  • 2 cups Low-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoons Honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Vanilla extract (optional, for flavor)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, add 2 cups of low-fat milk and place it over medium heat.

Step 2

Whisk in 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger, and a pinch of black pepper.

Step 3

Stir the mixture continuously to ensure the spices are well combined and do not clump.

Step 4

Heat the mixture until it is warm but not boiling, about 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from scorching.

Step 5

If you'd like a sweeter drink, stir in 1 teaspoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract at this stage.

Step 6

Once heated, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the milk through a fine mesh sieve to remove any spice residue, if desired.

Step 7

Pour the turmeric milk into two cups and serve warm. Optionally, garnish with a pinch of cinnamon or turmeric powder on top for presentation.
