Ingredients

  • 200 grams Lean sirloin steak
  • 60 grams Reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • 2 rolls Whole wheat sandwich rolls
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium Bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 spritz Olive oil spray
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Place the sirloin steak on a cutting board and trim any visible fat. Slice the steak into thin strips, about 1 cm wide.

Step 2

Sprinkle the steak strips with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to evenly coat the meat with the seasoning.

Step 3

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add a spritz of olive oil spray. Once the pan is hot, add the steak strips in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
