Ingredients

  • 1 pound Whole wheat pizza dough
  • 3 cups Fresh spinach
  • 1 cup Low-fat mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet or pizza stone with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add the spinach to the skillet and cook until just wilted, about 2 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, then remove from heat and set aside.

Step 4

On a floured surface, roll out the whole wheat pizza dough to your desired thickness and transfer it to the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.

Step 5

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

Step 6

Sprinkle the shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Step 7

Top the pizza with the cooked spinach, spreading it out evenly.

Step 8

Sprinkle the dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) over the spinach.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 10

Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
