Ingredients

  • 500 g lean ground beef (95% lean)
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low-fat milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0 as needed olive oil spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Worcestershire sauce, low-fat milk, black pepper, and salt.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients well until fully combined. It is important to not overwork the meat as it can lead to tough beef balls.

Step 4

With damp hands, form the mixture into small balls, roughly the size of a golf ball (about 1-1.5 inches in diameter). This should make around 18-20 beef balls.

Step 5

Place the beef balls on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have some space between each one.

Step 6

Lightly spray the beef balls with olive oil spray to help them develop a bit of a crust while baking.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are browned on the outside and cooked through on the inside.

Step 8

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce or as a topping for pasta or salad.
