Ingredients

  • 800 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 240 ml low sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add diced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add the carrot, celery, and bell pepper to the skillet, stirring occasionally, and cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
